Allegheny County Drink Tax

Allegheny County Drink TaxQuestion for people who live in areas that have a glass of 10% tax - this combo is a bit strange?

A tax of 10 percent on alcoholic beverages is considered paid in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

I understand that many sites have implimented this drink tax across the country, but Allegheny County has added a strange twist ...........
It would be useful to transit funds locally, and allow the Port Authority to take advantage of state matching funds in Harrisburg.

Does anyone else think this is a strange combo twisted?
A drink tax to pay for local transportation.

The opinions and thoughts welcome ...............
