Cocaine Anon

Cocaine AnonHas anyone had any luck with Out patient treatment for cocaine?

My husband finally admitted he has a problem and wants help. He wants to outpatient treatment or Narc-Anon. Has anyone experienced this and was lucky to get off the stuff? Or is the only solution Rehab Hospital. This is not the first time he has crossed, but this time he is aware that he needs professional help .... I need to know what to do. I love him and I support him in this the best way possible.

Outpatient treatment may be appropriate, depending on the extent of drug abuse. Unfortunately, depending on where you live, many insurance companies require that you fail at a lower level of care (such as outpatient treatment) before they agree to pay for the treatment of patients hospitalized (except when the customer is a severe withdrawal and detoxification needs clearly).

I live in PA and work at a substance abuse or treatment facility that provides mental health outpatient treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, and also has a program that is considered a partial hospitalization program for the women who use drugs and are pregnant or have kids. We also encourage clients to attend AA and / or Na, and find a sponsor. Whenever the client's condition becomes more serious and they need to be treated at the hospital, we need to call the insurance company and to justify our decision to place the client in the treatment of patients hospitalized.

The ideal situation is to have the client get treatment in a hospital first, then go to outpatient treatment, but most insurance companies simply do not see it that way.

Assuming that there is a problem is a very important first step in recovery. I would say that your husband call an ambulatory treatment center for evaluation.

Good luck!

not always

I will suggest in patient to start, there we will know how to begin. Out Patient will be where it solidifies and Narc Anon is where he will find support. Keep in mind the programs only work if he works programs, it must be serious about it first otherwise it will not work. Also keep in mind that it does not exist as an ex-drug addict or drug addict. An addiction is for life and the only thing an addict has to look forward to abstinence or return to the substance of choice that can only end in death or jail. I know what I'm an addict, I am a survivor.
I'll make another suggestion: you participate in a support group as it will help you understand what's going through and how to deal with the changes that will occur. No, you do not need to be a drug addict to attend a support group for addicts. Many "standards" do not attend to try to understand and help their loved one (s). Understand this: Be proactive, be consistent and be positive.
How clean and staying clean will be tough for you both at the beginning, fortunately, it will be easier over time. One last thought: Do not expect all this to happen on a "timeline", there is no such thing. Recovery is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for life.
