Friends Of Laphroaig

Friends Of LaphroaigDeciding between single malt scotch whiskey?

I want to keep the bottle under $ 100, if possible, but if it goes more than $ 10 or $ 20 USD I will not raise a question about it. Less is fine, of course. If someone says Johnnie Walker Red Label ... you're wrong ...

I try to pick a good bottle of New Year for a quick appointment. The pack is not a film crew alcoholic so I can get something better without worrying they will not appreciate a good whiskey.

Although I have some Johnnie Walker Green Label (I do not like what people say, not bad!), I would not mix (that and they do not fit into my blue label).

I recently finished a bottle of Lagavulin 16yr and thought it was fantastic, but I would like to discover a little more. A friend recommended a Laphroaig 10 + and 12 + years old Macallan.

Most of what I bought myself was Islay, but I'm more than willing to experiment with other areas!

Assuming you like the Islay whiskeys, and you like Lagavulin (as do many whiskey lovers) - and you know the difference between blends and single malts - and you agree that $ 25 buys a one kind of whiskey well - I would say that good options are:

Ardbeg Uigedail - it's like Smokey and crazy as they come, and will run you about $ 95. Others may not enjoy it if - but if they liked Lagavulin and Laphroaig, then it will be well received.

Ardbeg Airigh Nam Beist 1990 - in the tradition of Smokey similar, but not as much as a freight train.

Macallan is indeed a great distillery (in general) - The 12 is very good, but not particularly special ... And, uh, if you're going to spend $ 120, then plunge to $ 150 and get Macallan 18. This is a fantastic whiskey and you will not be disappointed.

Laphroaig is very tasty and the year 10 (as you mention) is very good, and you can also try the cask version.

I could go on and on ... best thing to do for you is around Google notes and tasting notes of whiskey. I refer you to my club and whiskey - we keep all our whiskeys organized in a way that allows you to sort by price and rating, it is easy to do what you do. Check the master list of Whiskey.

Have you tried any of this? Certainly not in the category of a tape of $ 100, but for the price, makes a great whiky drinking every day.

I take a bottle of Dalwhinnie 15 years old Highland Single Malt Scotch I got for Christmas.

I love it.

The Macallan 12 is a gem though.

I also love the Balvenie Double Wood. He is aged 12 years in traditional oak casks and sherry casks for a taste very pleasant mix of a large single malt.

Macallan is a beautiful thing, no doubt. If you have a taste for Islay style, but want something a little mellow, Bowmore is excellent. Highland Park, Glenmorangie Port Wood are two of my personal favorites. Enjoy!

Buchanan has some good last night, so Glin Livets (SP) makes Livit Glen is the best of both and much smoother. Both can be had about 50.00

So it's whiskey and you stomp on the cap of the bottle when you open it - everything will be fine.

I agree with the Macallan. In my liquor store, he was flying the shelves.

get a 40 of whiskey Gibson
