In a large skillet cook onion in hot oil until tender.
Meat and garlic, sauted lightly. Add remaining ingredients.
Simmer uncovered for 1 Β½ -2 hours or until the sauce is thick and Nice.
Stir occasionally. Remove the bay leaf. Serve hot over spaghetti.
Garnish with Parmesan cheese.
Yield: 6 servings.
Duration: 2 Β½ hours.



Cakes beef and potatoes



You can use ground meat if desired. A delight for children.



8 oz Beef.



8 oz Potatoes.



1 small onion, finely chopped 2-3 inches.



1 egg yolk.



dark soy sauce.



1 teaspoon salt.



Cook the potatoes and mash. Mix egg yolk and salt. Chop onion finely, brown with oil 1-tablespoon, and add the minced meat. Brown for 4 minutes. Add soy sauce and mix the lot with potatoes. Form balls the size of golf balls, flatten into patties. Heat the baking dish. Grease lightly with oil, use heat to medium and fry the cakes, turning to brown both sides.
