Is it taste more like Scotch Bourbon? Scottish distilleries have traditionally aged their whiskey in barrels used both to reduce costs nothing. Bourbon casks are many, because by law, Bourbon must be aged in new oak barrels. Both the Scotch and bourbon to take on the flavor of oak burned. Bourbon gets its color and most of its flavor from the barrel is fairly neutral distilled. Scotch is made from malt, and sometimes smoked malt, has a special flavor to begin.
