Can someone help me translate this poem? I thank you? Heart of hunger
Contraband in covered wagons across the fields in the morning dark,
related beam crossing,
grain brown faces dissolved in Sun bus station,
Immigrants: Mexicano, Dominicano,
Guatemalteco, Puertorriquea±o, orphans and travelers,
refuse permission to use the toilet gas station,
fought for a beer in the invisible cities with porches white
or evaporated without a tombstone in the grass peaceful
a centipede from hand movement,
hands clutching children as bereavement,
fingers towards the crucifix,
hands that work.
Long Backroads last paved solitude,
hands reaching into the thousands for the harvest floor and,
the roots of a tree torn countless lightning,
capillaries running a heart of hunger,
tobaccopicker, grapepicker, lettucepicker.
Hidden in the clouds of white budding cities in winter
Thousands of people are bowing to the assembly lines,
frenetic kitchens and sweatshops,
clean the vomit of other children,
bent steam iron
and light steel.
However, it is a pilgrimage
a history stretching arms and legs,
aspiration inexorable
shouting in Spanish
the police prison in the city
checkpoints and border
mexicano, Dominicano,
Guatemalteco, Puertorriquea±o,
Fishermen wading in the shadow of North America
to take a life breathlessly fierce
of the current polluted.
The poem fiercely paint the picture of suffering and distress that occurs when illegal immigrants desperate attempt to clear a path to a land of opportunity. "They are abused and treated like cattle being taken to the slaughter.
