How do you conduct a SWOT analysis for a business / company named GameStop? GameStop is a video game and entertainment software, or society, which has thousands of self-proclaimed stores across the U.S., and is based in Grapevine, Texas. This is the same company that recently merged with EBGames (formerly known as Electronics Boutique), another video game company with self-proclaimed stores across the country.
If you are taking or have taken the advertising (or any other business-related courses at university) and are or have a project called a publicity plan, a SWOT analysis is defined as follows:
(1) briefly reviews the current status of the company; reviews the market segments, outlines the objectives in the long and short term marketing, and cites decisions regarding market positioning and marketing mix.
(2) The director of advertising, it determines what the strengths and opportunities can be tapped, and what are the weaknesses and threats should be addresseed.
Let me start with how will they cope when u can download all the games on the internet ....
NO USED More Games ....
Here, step by step what I recommend you do:
1. Surf the Web and find out who their main competitors (not including specialty stores like Virgin, Fye, Blockbuster, etc..) More the merrier.
2. Take each of the competitors and make a list of their characteristics (how they sell, rent, their pricing policies, their store image, product availability, while other products (eg magazines). In this case too merrier. Try to make that shot (no long text).
3. Put all the lists of features that you made each of its competitors (as one big list). Some of them will be twofold: not to reproduce, maintain and delete the rest.
4. Take an Excel spreadsheet and the columns "and put all their competitors EBGames (one column for each company).
5. On the lines "to all the features you found in step 3.
6. First "control" which the company has features that.
7. Once you do this, follow these simple rules:
a. Force: Any feature you and nobody else has
b. Weakness: Any feature you do not have at least one of your competitors
8. Opportunities: Everyone has the feature, but the values of consumption (the list does not give you this, you will need to do a market study or be creative and think of something that nobody else has to add value but to the mark).
Nine. Trends: For this you need to follow the news and see what is happening so that you can complete your list. Last year was the launch of the Xbox this year is Nintendo and Playstation, and also know the rules of the Senate, they try to impose. CNet News is an excellent starting point because it has a website "as" the link that lets you see all the related discipline.
Nine. Put it all together in a color table and a beautiful presentation, and you're ready to go (and submit your project).
Download a 10-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission about this company. It contains roughly the same thing.
