There to drink Guinness at the factory?

Most airlines will tell you that you do not need a passport to travel to Dublin from the UK, but I had cases of people who are refused at the airport because they photo had id (drivers license, etc.). It would be a good idea to ask the company you travel with (airline, bus company ferry) in advance to be sure.
The Guinness Brewery is a great trip, especially if you end up going to their restaurant. Lovely food to absorb all the free samples!

No British citizens do not need a passport to enter Dublin only valid form of photo identification. Yes. I was at the Guinness factory. I loved it and I plan to return soon.

As they are two countries, so you need a passport to enter Ireland. Have not been to the Guinness factory ..........

Just back from Dublin, do not you do not need a passport but you need photo ID, driver's license will do, if you do not and you have a passport, while c is the best thing. We went to the Guinness factory, it is not cheap to enter, you are given a weight of paper with a black ring on the back, which entitles you to a free pint of Guinness in the bar at the top of the factory, they remove the ring as payment for your pint, you can keep the paper weighed. before arriving at the top of the page you go to the lab and tasting the flavor of a small sample of Guinness do not confuse that for your pint. You can drink as much as you want in the bar at the top of the plant, but you'll pay for it, after your free pint. Personally we did not think it was worth the price we paid to enter

Passport - depends how you travel and you are traveling with. You can walk across the border from Northern Ireland and will not be asked for a passport. Also on the ferries, but they are stopping more people these days. SOME airlines require a passport.

Guinness factory - not really worth in my opinion. You get a "free" pint included in the cost of your visit. I think the tour Jameson is a best lap, but better yet, save your money, buy a pint in a pub like an old man and you put in place for an afternoon talk with the regulars - you learn about the 'real' Dublin.

I do not know where all these people get their information, but you definitely do not have a passport to travel between the two countries. If you go by plane, you must have a photo ID, a passport can be used as identification, but it is not necessary. The United Kingdom and Ireland has always had a special arrangement where by you do not need a passport to travel between the two countries, just like how it was / is between the U.S. and Canada. So no, just make sure to have a photo ID, that's all.

As to the Guinness Storehouse, worth a visit. I can not remember the price, but was quite reasonable and you get a free pint at the end. The Sky Bar is located at the top of the building, it has glass windows from floor to ceiling and is circular. Have fabulous 360 degree views of the city. cool thing about building is that each floor has a hole cut out of it, and all these holes on each floor combine to make the outline of a pint of Guinness large piece of architecture! So yes strongly recommend going to the Sky Bar a few pints, it is usually closed in the evening for private events, but not a bar that is open.
