How Islay single malt whiskeys are there and what are their names? I think that seven years, but I could be wrong.
There are seven distilleries on the island recognized.

Ardbeg:
Port Ellen Port Ellen closed like a distillery, probably for good in 1983.
Bowmore:
Bruichladdich.
Lochindaal distillery closed in 1929 ..
Caol Ila:
Bunnahabhain:
Not on Islay, Jura, but it would be a shame to remove the Isle of Jura Distillery

There are 8 distilleries of Islay Kilchoman, Bruichladdich, Bowmore, Bunnabhabain, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Caol Isla and Ardberg. Islay malts are distinguished by their peatsmoke heavy, but the eight distilleries produce a wide range of products. The most heavily peated whiskeys are Lagavulin and Laphroaig with Bunnabhabain be the lightest in terms of repeating.
