How do I prepare a kava kava drink with root powder? Are there any recipes or special ways to do? I just tried to drink a cup of water with 4 tablespoons of powdered root.
Traditionally, there is a large bowl of kava in which the root and water are mixed. Then, the kava ceremony can begin - a person is generally stir the mixture and serve the kava in the shells of coconuts for drinking half. I brought some welcome Tonga, but noted that without the ceremonial stuff, it was not very satisfying! He did not have much taste, but it gets better as you drink. So I say, get some friends together, make a big bowl to keep and enjoy!
