Modern Wine Rack

Modern Wine RackIs this UNOPENED bottle of wine have a better "drunk before" .....?

I usually buy Hardy's Stamp of red wine, and sometimes the subject that so far the only one that pleases me in every way.

However, its fair to assume that, once opened it should be consumed fairly quickly, (or frozen for later use in the kitchen), but my question is:

A couple of bottles on my rack were purchased last year and I have not yet used. Although wine is Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2006, I wonder how would you advise me that I can hold "until it goes off in the bottle.

The modern wine keep for a while if not opened? Do not talk to 20 + years

How long a wine will age and improve depends on the structure of tannic wine. A cheap cab shiraz blend, intended for immediate consumption, will be fine for 5-10 years in most cases, as long as it is not exposed to extreme temperatures (hot or cold). Less tannic wines mature and degrade much more quickly (because Beajoulais should be drunk young), while the drier, bigger, more tannic wines, in some cases, can age for decades.

Your bottles should be perfectly fine and probably a little more taste than you opened before!

Well most wines, if not properly stored, tend to leave vinagrate (turn to vinegar). I store in a cool, dry place, preferably on the side, turning them every month to keep all sediment in motion (so they dont freeze and spoil the wine). unless a very good wine and appetizers and prepared for the long-term storage, I drink it within two years.

Usually, unless you spent a fortune to fix selection of wines, it is not useful to keep the wine spent about 12 months, but if she is still there, I remain open and give it a taste before clamping .

IT IS NOT FOR SALE OR Best Before BUT IT DOES TASTE BETTER the more you get out

it oxidizes once it was opened

as long as you store it horizontally, it should be good for years to come ....

NO. More wine is more effective and more costly.

wine tastes better when it is more

Each wine will have a different life, but in general, you should be able to keep most red wines for a minimum of 2 years. I have not had the opportunity of this red wine in particular, but I guess you could even hold off the opening until 2010. Both Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are very age worthy grapes if you have a very good chance of securing a decent life in this bottle.

As to how to keep - there a screw cap or is it a cork closure? This will determine whether or not the store or standing on its side. The only reason you store a bottle of wine on its side is to keep the cork moist cellar must choose to use one. Much of Australian vineyards have increased to a screw cap it is possible that your bottle can have. If so, you're fine to keep it stored vertically in a well ventilated area that does not know a lot of changes in temperature. If you live in a house with a basement, which will be the best place.
