That's where the kids kicked a ball to each other on the playground dilapidated that created the English club, we all know today. Their first victory in a Cup tournament has been won - West London Amateur Cup in 1887 and 12 months later changed their name to the long term, Fulham St Andrews Church Sunday School FC to the shorter name of Fulham CF. In 1893, they then won the West London League in their first attempt, but the club remained in amateur competition for another 5 years. Fulham offers reasons in 1896 to the now famous Craven Cottage, and in 1897 completed their move to professional football and play in the Southern League. In 1907, with two championships to their credit the South, they have agreed to participate in the Football League.

first device Fulham in Division 2 was at home against Hull City, but unfortunately they lost 1-0. This was a game minor when they raised their game and position in the tables and managed to finish their first season in a respectable fourth place. The high hopes for the club to promotion to Division 1 were quickly dashed and understanding of spending the next two decades in Division 2 became cemented with sufficient performance to run the mill. Football or absence gave Fulham a cruel blow at the end of the year 1927, see the club relegated to Division 3, officially known as the 3rd Division of the South. To some extent, the skills and gifts of Fulham football have been more appropriate for lower division and this would require a fundamental change in the club to aspire to a better state of things. Changing the basic principles of the club from top to bottom has not occurred overnight. Spending three seasons in Division 3 Fulham taught an invaluable lesson in complacency and self-effacement. The season 1931/32, Fulham rose to the occasion and were once more masters of their fate when they topped the table with wins like 10-2 against United and impressive torque of 111 goals this season they were promoted back to Division 2.

Fulham Football gifts and found form after next season when they made their way up the table and looking likely running a promotion, but with some good wins Stoke City and Tottenham Hotspur, they were crammed into the third place.

In 1949, the entry in what is described as the modern era of football, dreams and ambitions become a reality at Fulham when they got that promotion to Division 1. With this came also the responsibility of the competition alongside the football club fan who had world class players at their disposal. Fulham's first season in the top floor has seen them struggle and poor performance have been regular and almost become the norm for the club. End of season could not have come sooner and Fulham miraculously not stay finishing 17th in the table. More of the same followed by the season with the club after managing once again to avoid relegation. Inevitably, though, during the 1951-1952 season, their lowest finish of the table means that the moment was a Division had expired for them.

The few years that followed Fulham never really showed anything special until they find some form and gracefully reached the FA Cup semi-final in 1958. It gave them confidence that they desperately need Serge. Another boost for the club came when they were promoted back to the upper level of football. Looking more confident that attracted donations of football Graham Leggat who made 277 appearances for Fulham and competence deducted 134 goals, placing him in the top five scorers for the club. They finish the season in a mediocre 10th place, which was their highest position in Division 1 at the time. During these periods could attra Craven Cottage.
