MarketplaceWadi Rum Jordan Jordan - Petra and Wadi Rum? I'm going to Jordan in a few weeks and I decided to Goong both in Petra and Wadi Rum. JETT buses reliable or should I take a taxi instead (someone said it was better to take a taxi). I also want to make a camel ride, but I do not know if Petra and Wadi Rum is the best place to do it. Also, I'd rather be riding with a guide as to have a boy walking with the camel. What is a reasonable price for a camel ride and are there many companies / people offering camel rides in these places? You will probably be better with a taxi. You can get camel rides in Petra, but they do not go very far because most of the ruins are steep mountain slopes. You will only see the Treasury and the stadium and a few other things. If you want to go to high places, you can get a donkey or on foot. Wadi Rum gives you more scope for a good long race, but you must book in advance your camel. If you have never been on a camel before I knew that when they lift their hind legs go up first so that the rider is thrown forward. Some people go on the camel head if they do not hold tight. It is the same during disassembly. The front goes first. Posted on April 12, 2010.
