Wallace SacksHow Twitter can help you find gifts online

Twitter, feel social media online that only allows users to publish, or "tweets" as they say, 140 single characters at a time, took the overall online world by storm. Users can join the site by creating a free account, choosing a user name and password and are then able to follow the other and start "tweeting" themselves on anything and everything.

And now that Twitter has been around for several years and continues to grow in popularity by leaps and bounds, many marketers and retailers take advantage of frequently visited web site for advertising, attract new customers and announcing important information like sales or discounts.

For the Christmas season or any special occasion or holiday, the use of Twitter can help you find the sales were not posted and promotions that you will not be able to find anywhere else. And it is now estimated that about half of all major retailers around the world have a Twitter account. In the UK, retailers such as Asda, Asos, Debenhams, Dixons, Smythson, bags Wallace, Waterstones and Woolworths all have Twitter accounts that are updated regularly and even grocers such as Ocado are tweeting about their cargo.

Many High Street stores are tweeting about exclusive offers and special discounts to attract customers into their establishments or buy directly from their online website. Some stores Tweet on negotiating deals of the day while others announce their weekly sales.

Members can find their favorite store or dealer to see if they have an account and click the button once. Followers of stores and merchants on Twitter tweets will see companies announcing special offers, some of which last only for a short period of time. And because Twitter works in "real time", you'll know instantly if a sale begins or ends.

Instead of simply waiting for deals and bargains coming your way, you can also use Twitter to look for specific things rather than just sales.

On Twitter, the Advanced Search page, you can enter all the information you want, like a certain designer or clothing line or maybe the latest technological gadget on sale. Simply enter what you are trying to find under the "exact phrase" box and the word "sale" as "any of the words" and click the Search button.

Be creative in your search using words like "discount", "sale", "free", "promotion" and be prepared to spend much time looking in your results. Remember that you can search for the most obscure to those who are supposed to be so popular that they are hard to come close to the Christmas season. You can also search for coupon codes or coupon codes for electronic exchange cons of such a certain percentage discount on your order or free shipping.

In addition to the stores themselves, there are many useful "Tweeple" to follow on Twitter that will take all necessary steps "for you, scouring the Internet looking for the absolute best deals and lowest prices and then tweeting on their findings.
