Wetherspoons Lodges

Hello, I'm looking for a nice time, hassle, short break in the UK for me and my wife. Was looking at the Auberge JD Wetherspoons (The Hotel Shrewsbury) Shrewsbury and thought it might do the trick. Has anyone stayed? Would it fit the bill of what I'm looking for? Is the central town of Shrewsbury a safe place to unwind?

I live in North Wales and travel to Shrewsbury opportunity to take a break. I love the area, very quiet and picturesque. I'd say a safe place compared to most places, and the surrounding area is very nice too. Did not stay at the Hotel Shrewsbury well.
